Drawing a Minecraft
Starting at the top of your paper, draw a box with a dimension at the top. Start by drawing a flat square shape to create the front of the box. Next, draw an upward diagonal line directed towards each other on the top two corners of the box.
Now complete the shape by drawing a horizontal line connecting the two ends of the two diagonal lines we drew a moment ago. Drawing a Minecraft character relies heavily on straight lines, so feel free to use a ruler if you need help drawing straight lines. It will help you draw smooth lines perfectly and quickly.
Create your character’s upper body by drawing a vertical rectangular shape below the head. In the lower right corner of the body, just before the horizontal line intersects the vertical line, draw a short vertical line down and then a short horizontal line to the right. Repeat the same step until you have two shapes of similar shape and size.
When drawn correctly, it should look like a two-step descending ladder. Don’t forget to add this design, as it is one of the most distinctive features of Minecraft characters! Remember that the body’s width should be slightly less than the width of the head.
Make the portions by marking a vertical streak on both flanks in line with the shape of the torso. Following, mark a lying line at the base about the vertical bar’s two futures. Next, draw a vertical line through your character’s lower body, creating a separation between the left leg and the right leg.
Draw an elongated rectangle standing on either side of the upper body. It forms the left and right arms of your character. Don’t forget to add dimensions to the top of both arms! It creates an illusion of depth and makes your design look three-dimensional, like Minecraft characters should.
Draw a vertical line at the top of both arms of your character. It describes the sleeves of the shirt your character wears. So, where you draw the line depends on how long your sleeves are.
Draw another vertical line at the bottom of each leg. It’s pretty similar to what we drew in the previous step. This time, however, these lines draw the hem of the pants. As with the shirt, you can make the pants short or long, depending on your preference. If you prefer long pants for your character, use the illustration as a guide and place the line at the bottom. Otherwise, feel free to draw the hem on top.
Create the hair by simply outlining the hairline on the top of your character’s head. You can choose to draw the hair like we did or create a unique hairstyle. Either way, we’re sure your drawing will look amazing!
In this step, we will start drawing your character’s facial features. Start by drawing an arched or curved eyebrow on both sides of the face. Do your best to make your eyebrows as even and aligned as possible. After we finish drawing the eyebrows, let’s move on to the nose. Draw a rectangular shape with rounded edges to form your character’s nose. If you’re feeling more creative, why not experiment with different shapes to create a unique nose structure?
To complete the look:
- Draw a rectangle under each eyebrow to form a pair of eyes.
- Draw a small square inside each eye to create the iris.
- Shade the entire iris while leaving a tiny dot inside unshaded to create a dramatic effect!
Next, draw a horizontal line with a vertical line at both ends at the bottom to add a wide grin to your character’s face. Now that we’ve finished drawing a Minecraft character, it’s time to move on to the fun part.
